Why Is It Harder For Independent Women To Find Love?

We often hear men say ” I want to be with a smart, independent woman.” However, when it comes down to reality, it’s harder for independent women to find love. In fact, studies prove that the smarter you are, the higher are your chances of staying single.

Nevertheless, the reasons may not be what you think. Yes, it is a fact that more men are becoming emotionally unavailable. Yet, the reason why it’s harder for independent women to find love goes beyond choosing the right men.

They Know What They Want

The untold truth about being an independent woman, is that you have learned from your mistakes and past failures in love. Therefore, they are more conscious about the fact that not everyone is their soulmate.

Furthermore, according to a study oriented by Psychology Today, women are less interested in casual meetings than men. Consequently, once they realize that the relationship they are having is not moving forward, they leave.

They Are Intimidating

Let’s think about it for a second: An independent woman is usually someone who had to fight their way through life. In addition to having twice the trouble than men to reach their goals, they also know how to value themselves. Hence, men find them intimidating, especially when they ”know” more than their men.

Also, Jenna Birch’s book ”The Love Gap”, the author examines the pressure men feel regarding being the provider. So, when a woman is capable of bringing just the same to the table, it creates a mental obstacle for some men, as it hits their ”masculinity”.

They Trust Their Intuition

Women have simply proven that their intuitions are stronger than those of men. Therefore, when she feels that something is off, an independent woman who has been through it before, knows it’s right. Moreover, women who end up trusting their intuition and not always following their hearts, find it harder to find love, yet report to be happier that way.

Either way, a strong intuition that something is not working out for you shouldn’t scare you. On the contrary, women who often trust their inner thoughts tend to make the right long-term decisions.

They Believe Being Single Is Not a Flaw

Ultimately, the main reason why it’s harder for independent women to find love, is because they believe that being single is a choice. While the society still pressures women into wanting love, getting married and having children, not doing so is not a flaw either. Independent women go by the principle that ” If it doesn’t make you grow then it’s not worth it.” In fact, many women reported that they felt much happier alone than in the relationships they’ve been in. So, being single is much healthier for you than the wrong relationship/man.

This Is What Alcohol Actually Does To You

Drinking a glass of wine or a beer could actually be beneficial to you. However, constant alcohol consumption is very damaging to your body. Researchers have been investigating moderate alcohol use, and how it shapes our social behavior. Moreover, the findings also showed how alcohol affects our body and mental health. If you enjoy drinking, then take a look at this, to know what alcohol actually does to you.

Alcohol Inhibits Brain cells

Although the common explanation is that alcohol kills brain cells, new studies reveal that it doesn’t go that far. However, alcohol does inhibit and damage brain cells. In a study conducted by Grethe Jensen, he revealed that pure alcohol obviously does so much damage to your liver, and can cause brain cells to die. However, alcohol beverages that have a lower alcohol concentration, leads your brain to affect the way your neurons get their firing triggers from glutamate.

It Makes You Seem More Intentional

In addition to damaging your body, alcohol affects your interactions and how you come off to people. The Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin surveyed about 100 men, and tricked some of them into believing they were drinking Alcohol. Then, they questioned how they’ve judged certain reactions. In conclusion, men who thought were drunk seemed to believe that the acts done by others, were in fact, intentional.

Moreover, if you wonder why we often forget what happened, that’s because the way the brain makes memories is far from comprehensively understood. But it does seem linked to N-Methyl-D-aspartic acid, or NMDA, the receptor for which alcohol seems particularly adept at interfering with, according to Braun.

Effects Vary Based On The Person

The research however showed that what alcohol actually does to you, varies from men, to women, to different age groups, and even genetics. If you drink with a full stomach, alcohol absorption is relatively lower. In addition, Alcohol dehydrogenase (AD) is more effective on men rather than women.
