The heartbreaking story of Nero, the French bulldog who passed away 15 minutes after his owner died.
The story concerns Scottish man Stuart Hutchison, who was diagnosed with brain cancer 8 years ago. Eventually, he lost the battle, but he wasn’t the only one. His faithful dog Nero was found dead just minutes after.
He had three dogs, but Nero was his favorite
According to Stuart’s wife Danielle, the couple shared custody of 3 dogs. However, they have always shared a special relationship, and ‘‘were like one man and his dog,” as she confessed to Daily Mirror.
Nero was found dead by the father of Danielle. After hearing the news of her husband’s death, she broke her glasses. When her father went to get her another pair, he found Nero sick laying on the floor. The vet told the family that the dog ” had ruptured something in his spine but he had been totally fine before that’.
This strange yet tragic accident illustrates the solid relationship between dogs and their owners. When Stuart kew he was dying, he chose to go home instead of the hospital, and be with his wife and his dogs.
Why are dogs so loyal?
Scientifically speaking, dogs and their owners, during interaction; petting, talking and stroking. It was concluded that during interaction, oxytocin levels of both dogs and owners increased. Dogs also demonstrate amazing empathy towards humans. Researchers explored how dogs would react to their owners being upset, along with complete strangers.
