It is so, that once you <strong>upload something personal<\/strong> onto the cloud, it is <strong>impossible to take down<\/strong>. Or at least we thought so. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A life-ending picture<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine you have the<strong> job interview of your life<\/strong>, and the interviewer comes across an <strong>embarrassing photo of you<\/strong> that you thought you had deleted from your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\">Facebook<\/a> page. Bye-bye to your dream job. And all because of an <strong>indecent picture<\/strong> some friend uploaded for fun. Now it&#8217;s not &#8220;fun&#8221; anymore, is it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The right to forget<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/kelly-sikkema-4JxV3Gs42Ks-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"The right to forget\" class=\"wp-image-7008\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, a couple of years ago <a href=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/en\/googles-new-translator-tool-that-speaks-just-like-you\/\">Google<\/a> introduced <strong>the option of applying for your personal information to be deleted <\/strong>from the Internet. This finally made &#8220;leaving Google&#8221; possible, yet still very hard to accomplish. It works like so: the information is still on the original website, but it&#8217;s <strong>not available for people to search on Google. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But don&#8217;t think Google was actually <strong>thinking about you.<\/strong> Truth is, that it was the result of a sentence from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justicetribune.com\/tags\/europeanunion\">European Union Justice Tribune<\/a>. It stated our<strong> right of suppression<\/strong>, also known as, <strong>our right to forget. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Over half of the applications are rejected<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"601\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/bench-accounting-C3V88BOoRoM-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Applications rejection\" class=\"wp-image-7011\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This is <strong>good news<\/strong> for those of us who&#8217;ve had the most <strong>embarrassing pictures taken<\/strong>. However, what&#8217;s not so good news is how <strong>difficult<\/strong> it is for your request to be approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Over 55% of all requests have been rejected <\/strong>since its implementation. This means it&#8217;s quite probable your application gets <strong>turned down<\/strong>. But it&#8217;s not impossible. You just need one thing: <strong>money<\/strong>. And quite the amount of it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>It&#8217;s not exactly cheap<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fabian-blank-pElSkGRA2NU-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Piggy bank expensive\" class=\"wp-image-7013\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Companies that are in favor of the right to forget are <strong>not exactly the cheapest<\/strong>. For every URL you want deleted, they ask <strong>between 100\u20ac and 1,000\u20ac,<\/strong> depending on <strong>your case and the difficulty behind it.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the difference with these companies is that they actually do <strong>delete the information,<\/strong> rather than just the search. It&#8217;s not that it won&#8217;t appear on Google. It will not appear <strong>anywhere<\/strong> because the information is <strong>completely gone<\/strong>.
