However, there are <strong>many common nouns <\/strong>that can actually be <strong>used as verbs<\/strong>, in a process often referred to as &#8220;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/rhetoric.byu.edu\/Figures\/A\/anthimeria.htm\" target=\"_blank\">anthimeria<\/a>.&#8221; <strong>Shakespeare <\/strong>was <strong>very famous for this<\/strong>, and is the inventor for the verb usage of cake, elbow, and <strong>many more words.<\/strong> We bet you didn&#8217;t know that the following nouns could be used as verbs! Why not impress someone and drop them in your <strong>next conversation?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tiger<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/tiger-2535888_640.jpg\" alt=\"A tiger swimming\" class=\"wp-image-6967\" srcset=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/tiger-2535888_640.jpg 640w, https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/tiger-2535888_640-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, the <strong>orange and black striped feline<\/strong> actually can be used as a verb too! <strong>&#8220;Tigering&#8221; <\/strong>has two meanings, as listed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oed.com\/\">Oxford English Dictionary<\/a>. One is, &#8220;to act, behave, or <strong>walk to and fro, like a tiger.&#8221;<\/strong> The second is \u201cto mark like a<strong> tiger<\/strong> with<strong> lines or streaks <\/strong>of contrasting color.\u201d This makes perfect sense, given the <strong>coat of the cat. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Crab<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"354\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/crab-1990198_640.jpg\" alt=\"A crab standing on the sand. \" class=\"wp-image-6965\" srcset=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/crab-1990198_640.jpg 640w, https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/crab-1990198_640-300x166.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet another <strong>animal <\/strong>on our list of nouns used as <strong>verbs<\/strong>, <strong>&#8220;crab&#8221;<\/strong> has multiple meanings too. It can mean <strong>to move sideways, <\/strong>as a crab might do when <strong>scuttling,<\/strong> or it can also mean <strong>to complain.<\/strong> This is why we sometimes refer to <strong>people who are grumpy as &#8220;crabby,&#8221;<\/strong> for they are likely to <strong>snap <\/strong>at any moment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Heaven<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"423\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/nature-3048299_640.jpg\" alt=\"a beautiful meadow with mountains in the background, and sun coming through the clouds as if it were heaven, one of the verbs on the list.\" class=\"wp-image-6969\" srcset=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/nature-3048299_640.jpg 640w, https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/nature-3048299_640-300x198.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;Heavening&#8221;<\/strong> might sound a bit silly (as do all the verbs on our list, who are we kidding), but it has been used as far back as the <strong>17th century!<\/strong> To <strong>heaven <\/strong>means to <strong>make someone very happy<\/strong>, as if you were <strong>sending them to heaven from pleasure.<\/strong> Example, we are <em>heavening<\/em> when someone surprises us with <strong>making our absolute <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/en\/your-favorite-food-reflects-your-personality\"><strong>favorite food.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Liver<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"456\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/liver-sausage-556489_640.jpg\" alt=\"liver sausages and pate on bread.\" class=\"wp-image-6971\" srcset=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/liver-sausage-556489_640.jpg 640w, https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/liver-sausage-556489_640-300x214.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>No, thankfully this has <strong>nothing to do <\/strong>with the slimy gray food (and body part).
