Ghrelin\u2019s main function is to alert the brain whenever we are <strong>hungry.<\/strong> Cortisol is the <strong>hormone linked to stress,<\/strong> and has a multitude of effects on the body, which includes wanting to constantly eat. Just <strong>one bad night of sleep <\/strong>can cause a spike in both ghrelin and cortisol levels, meaning <a href=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/en\/you-can-finally-wave-your-cravings-goodbye\/\"><strong>major hunger cravings<\/strong><\/a>! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To avoid all the bad hormonal consequences triggered by a <strong>poor night\u2019s sleep, <\/strong>aim for a <strong>regular bedtime<\/strong> each night. A simple way to test if that <strong>hunger pang<\/strong> is actually thirst is by sipping a glass of water and waiting 15 minutes. The more tired we are, the hungrier we get\u2026 and the more the <strong>cravings kick in.<\/strong> Additionally, consuming too little food actually <strong>slows down our metabolism<\/strong>&#8211; making it that much harder to shed those extra pounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are trying to <strong>lose some weight<\/strong> and not go <strong>crazy from hunger<\/strong>, the best advice is to aim for a solid <strong>balance of proteins, fats and carbs<\/strong> in your diet.
