In fact, feeling stuck in life is probably <strong>part of how we keep moving forward.<\/strong> It is, however, important to know how to manage it and move on, or it will otherwise just worsen over time, keeping you from being productive, and in a negative state of mind<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;When we feel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peacefulwarrior.com\/books\/\">stuck,<\/a> going nowhere &#8211; even starting to slip backward &#8211; we may actually be backing up to get a running start&#8221;<\/p><cite>Dan Millman<br><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes you feel like <strong>you&#8217;ve tried everything in life<\/strong>, but there&#8217;s just <strong>no change<\/strong> at all. This can lead to frustration because you get the feeling of being unable to resolve the situation. <strong>You feel lost.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1536\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/mario-azzi-28007-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Stuck\" class=\"wp-image-3271\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why do we feel stuck?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Feeling stuck is only a perception of the mind<\/strong> and it <strong>does not actually represent reality<\/strong>. However, sometimes feeling stuck is <strong>necessary<\/strong>: it is a sign that <strong>something in your life has to change. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When faced with a problem, many of us become <strong>afraid and insecure<\/strong>, this occurs because it forces us to <strong>step out of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goalcast.com\/2017\/08\/22\/comfort-zone-killing-you-how-to-beat-it\/\">comfort zone<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goalcast.com\/2017\/08\/22\/comfort-zone-killing-you-how-to-beat-it\/\">.<\/a> This is why we often need something or someone to <strong>push us out of it<\/strong>. And it might just be ourselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/verne-ho-23882-unsplash-1.jpg\" alt=\"Lost\" class=\"wp-image-3277\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There are <strong>no shortcuts or loopholes <\/strong>to get out of this feeling of being stuck. There are, however, ways to ease the feeling and flourish, <strong>allowing ourselves the successful beings we thrive to become<\/strong>. Here are <strong>ten tips<\/strong> to achieve a better life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Focus on commitment, not motivation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to <strong>realize how committed you are<\/strong> to your goal, and what you are willing to <strong>sacrifice<\/strong> in order to achieve it. If you are fully committed, <strong>motivation will follow right behind.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Seek knowledge, not results<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4251\" height=\"2822\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/lacie-slezak-128106-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Knowledge\" class=\"wp-image-3279\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As they say, <strong>what&#8217;s important in the end is the journey and not the destination.<\/strong> Focusing on the excitement of discovery, exploring, experimenting and improving will <strong>keep your motivation fueled<\/strong>. If you just focus on the result, your motivation will die the moment you hit a bump on the road. Keep in mind <strong>what you are learning along the journey, and what can be improved.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Make the journey fun<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make it feel<strong> like you are playing a game<\/strong>; let it be <strong>exciting and entertaining.<\/strong> If you take things too seriously, you will probably carry around a <strong>heavy emotional weight<\/strong> which will <strong>cause you to lose perspective<\/strong> and start from zero. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"5184\" height=\"3456\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/zachary-nelson-192289-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Fun\" class=\"wp-image-3281\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Get rid of stagnating thoughts<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>How our mind works is a big line of domino pieces just waiting to fall over causing a <strong>big chain of repercussions<\/strong>. <strong>Our thoughts influence our feelings, and these in turn influence how we view things<\/strong>. As human beings we are emotionally intelligent enough to <strong>choose what thoughts to focus on<\/strong>, and we have<strong> two choices<\/strong>: focusing on the negative thoughts, those that will make us feel stuck all over again; or the positive ones, those that will <strong>encourage us and make us move forward.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Use your imagination<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1384\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/kristin-brown-1488173-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Imagination\" class=\"wp-image-3284\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have been able to get rid of the negative thoughts, the <strong>next step is using your imagination.<\/strong> Usually when things are well, we tend to feel good, and positive; but once things go south, we immediately start experiencing difficulties and are invaded with negative thoughts. This must change, and is essential to becoming successful in life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have to <strong>change your situation.<\/strong> If you keep bringing yourself down over and over again, you will actually start believing it. <strong>Negative thoughts will evoke negative feelings.<\/strong> So now it&#8217;s a matter of imagination. <strong>&#8220;Fake it &#8217;till you make it&#8221;<\/strong>, as saying goes. You can always find a way to learn from a bad experience. <strong>Think positive and positive things will follow. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"5184\" height=\"3456\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/allef-vinicius-180699-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Happy\" class=\"wp-image-3312\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6. Stop being nice to yourself<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Motivation means actions and actions means results<\/strong>. When this is not the case, we often prefer being nice to ourselves and <strong>remove us from a difficult situation<\/strong>. We rather wait for an opportunity to come up; for the perfect timing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While this happens <strong>we drive ourselves into stagnation<\/strong>, which can often result in <strong>anxiety and even depression<\/strong>. It&#8217;s important to <strong>challenge <\/strong>ourselves, <strong>even if it might frighten us.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7. Get rid of distractions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trivial distractions<\/strong> <strong>will always stand in the way <\/strong>of our achievements, especially simple things we&#8217;d rather do instead. This is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/en\/how-to-stop-procrastinating-and-get-things-done\/\">procrastinating.<\/a><\/strong> We need to <strong>get rid of this and focus on new challenges<\/strong> that will help us grow. Learn to <strong>focus<\/strong>. Stop relying on others<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Never ever expect others to do your work for you. <\/strong>Everyone has their own stuff to get through. You&#8217;re the only one who can make you truly happy, so f<strong>ocus on you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>9. Plan<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to have a <strong>simple three-step-plan:<\/strong> <strong>when<\/strong> will you do <strong>what<\/strong> and <strong>how<\/strong>. Following these three points,<strong> fill your weekly calendar <\/strong>with precisely <em>what<\/em> you have to do, <em>when<\/em> you will do it and <em>how<\/em> you will do it. It is essential to <strong>schedule<\/strong>. After, you should <strong>review how the days went, realize what you&#8217;ve learned, and what can be improved.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"6016\" height=\"4000\" src=\"https:\/\/curiosifymagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/felipe-furtado-678938-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Planning\" class=\"wp-image-3289\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">10. Protect yourself from burnout<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Being motivated is good, but not so much until the point where you burn out. Look at yourself in the mirror; try to <strong>auto-criticize yourself and identify when your mind and body need to rest<\/strong>. Include <strong>relaxation and time for fun<\/strong> into your schedule: create a <strong>diversity of tasks<\/strong> to fulfill and <strong>keep switching <\/strong>between the different types. Switch between creative and logical activities; between working alone and in group.
