We often hear men say ” I want to be with a smart, independent woman.” However, when it comes down to reality, it’s harder for independent women to find love.<\/strong> In fact, studies prove that the smarter you are, the higher are your chances of staying single<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevertheless, the reasons may not be what you think.<\/strong> Yes, it is a fact that more men are becoming emotionally unavailable.<\/a> Yet, the reason why it’s harder for independent women to find love goes beyond choosing the right men.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They Know What They Want<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The untold truth about being an independent woman<\/strong>, is that you have learned from your mistakes and past failures in love. Therefore, they are more conscious about the fact that not everyone is their soulmate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, according to a study oriented by Psychology Today,<\/a> women are less interested in casual meetings than men.<\/strong> Consequently, once they realize that the relationship they are having is not moving forward, they leave. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s think about it for a second: An independent woman is usually someone who had to fight their way through life. In addition to having twice the trouble than men to reach their goals<\/strong>, they also know how to value themselves. Also, Jenna Birch\u2019s book ”The Love Gap”,<\/a> the author examines the pressure men feel regarding being the provider<\/strong>. So, when a woman is capable of bringing just the same to the table, it creates a mental obstacle for some men, as it hits their ”masculinity”.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They Trust Their Intuition<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Women have simply proven that their intuitions are stronger<\/a> than those of men. Therefore, when she feels that something is off, an independent woman who has been through it before,<\/strong> knows it’s right. Moreover, women who end up trusting their intuition and not always following their hearts, find it harder to find love,<\/strong> yet report to be happier that way.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Either way, a strong intuition <\/strong>that something is not working out for you shouldn’t scare you. On the contrary, women who often trust their inner thoughts<\/strong> tend to make the right long-term decisions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, the main reason why it’s harder for independent women to find love, is because they believe that being single is a choice.<\/strong> While the society still pressures women into wanting love, getting married and having children, not doing so is not a flaw either.<\/strong> Independent women go by the principle that ” If it doesn’t make you grow then it’s not worth it.”<\/strong> In fact, many women reported that they felt much happier alone than in the relationships they’ve been in.
